I found the yesterweb almost when it started!
Back then my site was on Neocities and finding a place with people that were interested on old web stuff (not just the aesthetics of it but all what it meant for each one of us) was really interesting. :)

I'm currently running Arco Linux on my laptop but started on this Linux thing using Mint.
So far I didn't have much of a problem with Arco and also Erik Dubois channel (the guy who maintains the distro) covers basically everything that can go with it, super helpful

i dont think we shoudl be like. only connected 1 hour per day or something (no shade on people who do prefer limiting their time online though) cause theres really a lot of useful tools online like being able to check a bus/train schedule from anywhere or being able to find a company's phone number...

xmpp is very cute! it takes a lil bit of work to setup but it's so extensible (in the name), lightweight and snappy. would recommend. my fav server for single-users is probably prosody but i heard snikket is new and way easier to get running. a lot of clients still support stuff like status message...

Oh I think this is common to happen. This is my recommendation: just copy whatever thing you find cool and then modify it to your exact liking. I think that's not just a good way to get things on motion but also one of the best ways to learn better html and css
