Re: Losing technology to technology

Retro-gaming is so strange to me! Just about all video games, and consoles, were mass produced yet they seem to holding insane value. Old consoles made not just history but also a lot of good memories for a lot of people. And personally, for me, it's more interesting to play games in their original...

Re: Losing technology to technology

Anyone else have their experiences of wanting something that used to be so simple that just doesn't exist anymore?! I really want to buy a Sony MP3 (early 2000's model) but is impossible to find in marketplaces/regular storess within my country, and late versions of it hiked in price. Also, retro g...

Re: The internet as an extention of American Culture

there's still some other ways you can be tracked , unfortunately, though every little bit helps. i don't spend a huge amount of time on apps on my phone anymore but while there was a difference for me, it hadn't gone away entirely. blocking stuff on phones also tends to the harder side if you use a...

Re: The internet as an extention of American Culture

i mean, it's a lot harder to block trackers on phones, especially if you're using apps or proprietary oses... Something I've been experimenting with for a while is revoking the mic and camera permissions of apps. I noticed a HUGE diference in ads, but not in the feeds itself, maybe because most of ...

Re: The internet as an extention of American Culture

I'm not American, I've just been living there for the past 3 years. And I agree each corner of the web has it's own flavor but for what I've seen a TON of it starts in the States and then gets copy or mutates in it's own way to other parts of the world (I'm talking about South America mostly). I th...

Re: How did you get into web design?

I guess it was in 2009, with a fanfiction website. They used to allow people to make their own themes with HTML/CSS. Unfortunately I was (still) really bad with coding so I used themes submitted by other users. I also designed a layout for my old blog back in the day. Finding Neocities kinda revamp...

Re: First game you remember playing

well, the one i played as a kid was the pre-steam port. it was good enough, i guess, seeing that i like sonic. the steam port is actually a little worse than the old pc port from what i've heard, but there are many mods to make it way better, at least. ---------------------------- this site should ...

Re: First game you remember playing

If I remember correctly my very first game was Sonic Adventure in Dreamcast and my first PC game was a educational game called Coelho Sabido (aka Reader Rabbit and yes it is an official portuguese release). I am actually really glad that someone took the time to record the game, please enjoy (the r...
