What interests me about the yesterweb: the sense of a space created by and for the people that inhabit it, for their own sake! The amount of self-expression that's possible, and even expected! The honesty and integrity expressed here can't really be found elsewhere on the net. It feels like a rebellion of sorts, it's fresh. Maybe i'm romanticizing it now but yeah. Yeah!!!!

What interests you about the Yesterweb? today's internet and social media sucks, so I'm glad there is a community here dedicated to bringing back the experience of communities and creative freedom that once made the web a fun and interesting place. I'm also glad there is a forum now since I prefer it as a format over the Discord server that is easy to get lost in.
What's your favorite thing to do online? browsing community-created content such as fanart and fanfiction of popular media (doing my best to avoid the ugly side of it, lol), meeting friends who share my interests and looking at discussions of interesting topics. I also enjoy using the internet to learn new skills and facts (be careful believing what you read though), which is still one good the 'net has to offer even in this day and age.

I'm eblu, a nearly-21-year-old and creator of a million projects in various stages of incompletion. I take a little too much inspiration from the mid-late 2000s for my own good, but it's cool. I'm currently working on a game intended for the web, but I've put it on the backburner for now.

the yesterweb is really interesting! I (re)discovered personal sites through a now friend of mine, and I've had a neocities page since late 2020 (don't bother looking at it, I haven't updated it since then and I regret a lot of things that I put on there). seeing people forging their own spots on the web again is relieving on an increasingly corporate internet.

if y'all need any pointers on how to accomplish things on the forum, don't be afraid to send me a message. I don't have 10 years of forum experience for nothing

What interests you about the Yesterweb? The zine is very fun to read, and quite informative! So is seeing people talk about the web and web-making in the Discord server.

What's your favorite thing to do online? Not gonna lie, if I feel like there’s nothing to do, I’ll just unconsciously grab the phone and start scrolling mindlessly. So it feels like while I’m online a lot, it’s hard to recall what exactly I like about it. I like reading (+contributing to, if possible) wiki pages, conversations and threads on topics I’m interested in and checking to see if my favorite fics on AO3 has updated and comment (it’s a bonus if the author replied!), I guess.

How do you feel about the Yesterweb forum? I really hope it grows! It’d definitely be nice to be able to take conversations more slowly and have the context actually available for everyone. Also it’s baby’s first forum :D
