Art Page Thread!

Post by OneMillionFurries »

An art page thread! Share your website's art pages (as long as they fit within the yesterweb forum's guidelines) and comment on others art! :D

I'll go first: Here's my art page! Haven't updated it in a while but that's just because I haven't been doing any art lately :P

OOH your art is GORGEEOUS! It's really neat seeing another neoclone artist! I do art for Moderneopets and it's an absolute blast!
I love how you push expressions, it's really charming!

This is my gallery, but tbh I haven't had the chance to update it past january 2022 xD

i'll bite on this actually. i've been trying to spread my art throughout the webpage, not to consolidate it in a single place. (ive said this before but i'm fighting hard not to create a portfolio-style thing). but for my notebook scans, it's just the natural way to present them i think. idk.

so.. this would be my notebook collection. i try to keep a little thing + a few pens on me at all times, so that i can doodle at the bus stop or zoom meeting or whatever comes up. i try not to police what goes into these, so there's also a bunch of shopping lists and song titles and such.

By the way! does anyone know some brand of passport-size notebooks? like, it'll fit in your pocket, and doesn't contain too many pages (max 30 or so)...? i've tried the moleskine cahier ones, theyre the best i can get in store, but the paper is too thin and all my fun pens bleed through... and the muji ones, also very thin and too polished also, the paper texture is all weird. too much glue i believe? ive bought good ones on aliexpress like 10 years ago but the shop is closed and id rather get something from the same continent, lol.

so anyway, im willing to try anything in that format. i dont care for lines/grids/dots, but white paper isn't a must. price doesn't matter anymore... i just want a nice notebook...!

@sixeyes : First, I love your notebook gallery. Second, for note/sketchbooks: I was going to recommend Itoya ProFolio Oasis notebooks--they take to most inks well, durable, and easily fit in a pocket--but it seems like they only offer it in dotted and lined OTL. However! Fabriano's EcoQua is a more Moleskin-ish styled notebook that might be worth looking into.

And that way I'm not completely off topic, most of my art's at https://www.tombofnull.art/gallery.html#Archive.
There is some horror-themed art but it is behind a content filter, and there isn't anything sexual so it should be within the guidelines. Some of the links 404 since I'm still in the process of creating pages for each piece [it has been quite the task lol :') ], but there's a lot that doesn't 404!

Thank you.. and tyvm for the notebook tip! I'll actually see if i can get hold of the dotted Oasis ones. (Lines might still be too much for me but i should be able to manage dots. 😅)

Don't know if it's mostly flare but i saw while browsing the Fabriano website that they had a "boquet" thing where it was a bunch of notebooks with different paper quality in each. That might be fun too, nice way to get a feel for what you like.

Hehe, "precambrian" :P You are writing these pages by hand (as in HTML)? I've visited before, a while ago, but i think the site's grown a lot since then. Impressed by how coherent your artstyle/presentation is (i remember being intrigued by the palette per season concept!)

I think having the images on their own page is a good choice, it makes you consider them without being distracted by the others. ((although, the qud pixels are my faves (so good!!) and they are better for being all next to each other. hmm...))

This is great, I love the concept! And the notebooks are super cool to look through,
(Hej från en annan svensk också, kul att det finns två av oss här :D )

Oh wow, your art style is gorgeous! I really like the deep muted colours you use

My art page is here: https://imaginarykarin.com/art
Not a whole lot on that page as most of my work is scattered across various blog posts and social media. Should probably make an effort to put it all in one place at some point.

Yup! Granted I'm sure there's a less laborious way of handling it all, but I like the idea of sticking to using static code as much as possible, as well as keeping the DIY spirit of the whole thing.
And thank you! I might actually drop the per-season palette thing for just this year since my CSS has become a little bit of a spaghetti mess. Once I know most of the little code assets I'd need for the site are hammered out I might go back and re-implement it. Ritualdust's take on it is so much more elegant imo LOL

Mmm! Writing html is good. But it takes patience to keep it coherent (i certainly gave up). I wish sometimes for browser support for sass or some other way of writing nested css... and something like react's "components" for reusable html structures. (But then we've probably moved beyond "markup language"...)

I have to look further at the way Ritualdust does it. At first i thought storing themes in SVGs was a bit weird, but then each theme becomes it's own preview! That's actually pretty clever.
