My desktop is just generic due to just being wiped. Having issues and stuff, never been able to customise it. I would if I could... do phone lock screens count?

Windows 10 Home, i7 7th gen, 16GB of RAM, shitty HP laptop I've had for like 5 or 6 years. I'll be reformatting soon since I don't use it for work anymore. Backgrounds rotate between many bright, solarpunk-esque images.

I'm at work right now so I only have my Windows 10 laptop to show. Will show off my Manjaro, Mint, and Raspbian desktops when I'm finally home! my wallpaper shifts a lot, too, got dozens it shuffles between xD

I did make my laptop look pretty snazzy on NYE though!

Not the most convincing XP-alike but o well. I'll have to use Twister OS for a more convincing XP theme some time!

i have a custom desktop inspired by persona 5's menus!

to be honest i've been thinking of changing it since i'm not super into persona 5 like i was when i made this desktop, but hey, i can't deny i quite like using it lol. i can't take full credit for this, i got the design idea and the calendar widget from some reddit posts i think, all i did was make some of the button icons and code the buttons to make them open apps when you click

the calendar at the top left shows the real date, time, and weather, and the buttons link to apps i use often

oh yeah dont worry mines like, not even navigable unless you're me XD there like stupidly named PSD's all over place, shit like "adfjlkjdfg.psd" XD i just took a screengrab of my cleanest one (after i tidied it)

after what feels like a lifetime of running i3 and a super clean (and dark!) wallpaper, i recently bought a mac and immediately became like the mac users i've sighed at for all those years :p ((at least my dock isn't 99999px wide.... yet))

I used to have pictures by the same artist as my desktop background!

I've decided to change things up after one year and a half of being DE-less and using tiling WMs. NsCDE caught my attention some time ago, and now that I've finally installed it, I'm really impressed. I didn't even have to customize it that much to make it look great. Now all I have to do is learn how to make FVWM more amenable to tiling...

oh my god this wm looks so cool, even if i don't end up using it i'll probably rip the gtk theme and modify it for my tiling wm. reminds me of old-school UNIX! thanks for putting it on my radar :>

　i'm currently using windows 10 ( i hate it, but was forced to upgrade from my beloved windows 7 ) and i like to customize all the icons for making cute scenarios with them on my desktop.
　i just keep there the shortcuts i access daily : the file explorer ( teddy bear ), browser ( teapot ), notepad ( books ), photoshop ( bunny frame ), trash can ( cup of milk ) and email ( envelope ) while i organize other things inside folders.

　sometimes i also open a ukagaka to bring me company, should i have included one in my screenshots.. ?
　do any of you like to download ukagakas too ? they're super cute, and have grown in popularity again recently !

It is a modern remake of CDE, so the remembrance isn't unwarranted. I may end up riping the themes and other integrations NsCDE has too if I'm unable to insert tiling functionalities into FVWM.

Thank you, and sure, it's a bunch. Made it years ago and haven't found anything new that would replace it. I think I could upload the file somewhere that contains all of em but you'd have to modify things like the rss feed and steam launcher.

wow, you guys are clean! i've always liked the look of a clean desktop and ive tried it a few times but im still just accustomed to having everything i need on my desktop, don't like going into menus to get to everything. I also end up using the right side of my desktop for whatever i've been working on recently..

unfortunately for the clean desktop users, prepare to cringe, as i present..

Really interesting to see you guys desktop!

Mine isn't really crazy; It's Windows 10 with a tiny taskbar and a single Rainmeter addon, but only to see the clock more easily. I also changed the icons, but I don't have the name of the pack on hand (I can search further if you're interested)

The painting is Falling Star Painting by Witold Pruszkowski, I absolutely love it even tho I'm looking at it everyday

I also bought StartIsBack to make the start menu actually useful, best money I ever spent!

Dang happy soon to be 22 years old to that thread and the link showed lots of Windows 95 and Windows 98's when that thread started to Windows11, MacOS, Linux and ChromeOS where we are today.
