Re: The forum is shutting down
Trying right now. Are the community guidelines and rules from the discord archived somewhere? The community guidelines and rules were absorbed/abstracted/concentrated into the manifesto and etiquette. We don't think copy-pasting rules and such will work. You have to do the best of your ability to f...

Re: The forum is shutting down
I feel like the rave scene is more than a subculture.. like an irl counter-culture as defined ITT and could bring about world peace if it wasn't so addicted to social media. If this is true then you should be able to organize it. Who wouldn't a world based on peace, love, unity, and respect? Trying...

Re: The forum is shutting down
I am what is known in Latin America as a digital guerrilla. I show up in promising social spaces and attempt to perform a social transformation. Once I have done all I can, I move on and do it again, sometimes online, sometimes offline. I have been popping in and out of existence like this for six ...

Re: The forum is shutting down
I'll make a yesterweb sticker and put it on my computer. It would be cool if someone recognized it. I've been starting to visit a local anarchist hackerspace thing so maybe it will happen. I'll still miss yesterweb spaces though. I don't think irl interactions are a substitute or analog for meeting ...

Re: Post your Mastodon accounts!
I post pretty regularly.. haven't been super interactive as I kind of use it as a vent acc but I'm trying to be less like that.
I'm happy with the instance I'm on but also curious about the yesterweb instance, is it active relative to the forum?

Re: The Permanence of Forums
///// DO NOT QUOTE I feel less safe with the permanence and searchability of forums. IMO off-topic and chat boards should be non-indexed, viewable to members with a certain post count only, and actually deleted/reset periodically. I'm conflicted about even mentioning this for the aforementioned reas...

Re: ☆ avatar central! ☆
Why is my avatar so small and crunchy and all these avatars look so large and smooth? I started with a nice file but then I made it 100x100 and <6KiB. It's .gif, only 3 frames... Are there tricks for making a small file that doesn't look so compressed?

Re: What do you like to do outside?
I'm a little similar to your description and I prefer going outside when it is cloudy or at night/dusk. I just feel less exposed I guess. I'll just wander around and listen to music, and I wear big headphones so people don't bother me. If it is sunny out I wear dark sunglasses. It sounds like your a...

Re: What is/are your favorite documentary/ies?
I'm not sure it could be called a favorite since I don't watch many documentaries but this one about origami was really fun: https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/documentaries/between-the-folds/ lots of different approaches to being excited about something. I liked the guy who just put one fold in th...

Re: First game you remember playing
My first game was also Myst! My parents were super against video games but my dad got it for himself when I was like 5 and included me in his process of solving the puzzles (though I was obviously more interested in just exploring the world and the story). Then I found it in the house the summer bef...

Re: Music you're listening to
I've been rediscovering my love of listening to albums after a long time of being focused on electronic music (which isn't usually released in an album format). 13th Step - A Perfect Circle https://yewtu.be/watch?v=b9jQ0FUQ9b8 Either/Or - Elliot Smith https://yewtu.be/watch?v=WYrHbbMOzLA Also this t...
