Yesterweb FreshRSS Instance!

Post by yequari »

Hey everyone!

qt3.14 and I have been working on setting up an instance of FreshRSS for the Yesterweb. FreshRSS is a web-based RSS/Atom feed aggregator with a lot of nice features. One of my favorites is the "Subscribe" bookmarklet, which is accessible by going to Subscription Management -> Subscription tools and bookmarking the link it gives you. Then you can click it on any website to make FreshRSS look for a feed and subscribe to it, if one exists. The web interface is mobile-friendly and you can add it to your phone's homescreen!

To get started, make an account at https://rss.yesterweb.org

To get started with some feeds, check out the forum's Smartfeed feature and the Share your RSS feed! thread.

So... I created an account, and then I logged out and I can't seem to log back in, and I'm pretty sure I didn't forget my password in the half an hour I've been playing with it, nor does there seem to be a password reset url? I'm wondering if it's showing any errors on your end?

I'm able to log out and log in, so I don't think it's a system issue. Unfortunately, FreshRSS doesn't let users reset their passwords, it must be done by an admin. I'll PM you about it.

Now, that I'm logged back in and have imported all my feeds from Feedly (which were originally imported from Google Reader.... a decade ago...),I have to say that the killer features of FreshRSS for me right now is the fact that it makes it super obvious if a feed is broken, AND that there's a way to see which feeds are inactive and haven't been updated in awhile.

I am getting *SO* much clean-up done right now.
