Gee, it's been a while since I last introduced myself on a forum. I joined the Yesterweb discord first, but large discords tend to be a little overwhelming to me. The forum should be much more my pace.

I'm a 27yo autistic freelance artiste from France. Back in the days of the old web, I made html pages for my neopets, then sort of lost the skills when I moved to anime forums and wrote Pokemon fanfiction.
These days, I've found that I spend just as much if not even more time on the internet, yet that time feels less and less satisfying. I'm hoping joining a forum of old internet nostalgics can help with that. I'd like to dabble in neocities sites, but I'm not sure where to start yet! Or even what I'd like to make.

I like anime, video games, sci-fi, drawing and writing (but oh boy, my writing is rusty), furry things... I think that broadly covers most of it.

I'm Kyle/kmisterk. If you see a "kmisterk" elsewhere on the web, it's likely me. I also sometimes go by serendipity or AndThenSheCame (This one mostly in gaming communities or in actual games. For instance, it's my Apple Games account name).

I'm 33 year's young and my interests are varied. Some of them become apparent in just how I talk. I make a lot of references to or comparisons with concepts, hobbies, and ideas I align with. I have several technical hobbies, a couple mechanical hobbies, a bunch of nerdy hobbies, and, of course, I must make a living (I'm a Systems Engineer/DevOps Strategist).

I'm terrible with some things when it comes to memory and details, while other times I can't seem to figure out why I just *have* to remember the position of each chair at the office when I haven't been there for a week. Go figure.

Yesterweb found me by accident. I casually got back into Neocities a few months ago to help someone on reddit. Forgot about it, got charged again for it this evening, and went back to cancel. I changed my mind, though, as it helped me find this interesting and dynamic community. I find it intriguing that so many people of such diverse backgrounds and walks of life come together here in harmony and find a sense of comfort from this kind of community; detachment from the struggles of being around people, allowing connections to the core of what makes us who we are. It's how I wish we all were in face-to-face relationships, alas, even I admit to the occasional subconscious bias that I must nip in the bud before further engaging.

But not online. Not here. Here, we must take things in as they are written to us. We take it in within the limits of a conversation written in the pages of the aether. I like it better this way. I've made some of my best and closest relationships without having ever seen their faces or even heard their voices. Something to be said about the comfort that can be discvoered among those we'll never likely physically meet but seem to eventually become so intimate.
